Frustration

I am so tired of dealing with close minded, ignorant people.  Don’t get me wrong, I don’t pretend to have all of the answers.  In fact, I’m quite sure that I do not have all of the answers.  What’s more, I will be the first person to admit that I need more info before I can come to a reasonable conclusion on a topic, if I need to.  Furthermore, I’m willing to listen to the other side of any debate.  I genuinely try to see the other’s point of view.  My mind may not be changed, but I do, at least, show respect for the opposition. 

 Unfortunately, it seems that there are many people who just want to shove their point of view down your throat.  And they become downright rude (if not abusive) in the process.  For the record, name calling and smartass remarks will not further your argument in my mind and I doubt that I’m the only person who feels that way. 

 Perhaps, if more people listened with an open mind, showed respect for other and genuinely worked to find common ground the world would be a better place.  Why is that so hard for so many to do?
